Welcome to Bolton Canoe Club

Here at Bolton Canoe Club we run a professional but informal family orientated club offering opportunities for juniors and adults of all levels to enjoy recreational paddling in kayaks, canoes and Stand-Up-Paddleboards in a fun, relaxed and safe environment. We have a great bunch of coaches who will help you progress at your desired speed for those wishing to gain the British Canoeing Paddle Awards, or if you simply want to get on the water for some paddling fun and enjoyment.

We run club sessions most Monday evenings throughout the year as well as day and camping trips.

During cooler months (Oct to April) we can be found at Westhoughton Leisure Centre swimming pool, practicing our kayaking techniques amongst games such as canoe polo. Weather permitting, we may also run Sunday sessions on High Rid reservoir over the Winter season.
During the warmer months (April to Oct), we are at High Rid Reservoir in Horwich. Bolton Canoe Club is an affiliated British Canoeing not-for-profit club with all committee and coaching volunteering their time for free which helps to keep our membership and session fees to a minimum.

We always welcome new members of all levels and ages to the club, and our British Canoeing coaches and instructors are there to ensure members develop in a safe and friendly way. Bolton Canoe Club have a range of kayaks, canoes and Stand-Up-Paddleboards (SUPs) along with the basic equipment (Wetsuit, Cagoul and Buoyancy aid) required to get our members on to the water and help them develop and explore our countries amazing waterways.

Throughout the year, we run trips that are aimed at all our members abilities, from family weekend camps with beginner flat water paddling through to white water river day trips through the winter months.
